The third edition of Africa Health ExCon, the largest African health exhibition and conference, commenced on June 3, 2024, at the Al Manara International Conference Centre in Cairo. Inaugurated by Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli on behalf of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, the event runs until June 6, 2024.

The conference aims to enhance trade exchange between African countries, promote the localization of medical industries, and address healthcare challenges across the continent. With over 500 major companies participating and more than 60,000 visitors from over 100 countries, Africa Health ExCon 2024 aligns with the African Union's Agenda 2063 for 'A Prosperous Africa.'

The event features over 350 scientific sessions covering 32 specializations, with the participation of over 1,200 Egyptian speakers, 150 international speakers, and 300 foreign delegates. Notable exhibitors include Grifols, Medtronic, Pfizer, and General Electric Healthcare, among others, showcasing the latest advancements in medical technologies.

Prof. Dr. Adel Al-Adawi, former Minister of Health and Population and President of the Egyptian Medical Association, highlighted the importance of the conference: 'We are proud to announce over 350 scientific sessions covering 32 specializations... These numbers reflect our commitment to providing high-quality scientific content that enhances medical knowledge in Egypt and across Africa.'

The exhibition also includes Egypt Pharma City, a significant project aimed at producing high-quality medicines at lower prices than imported products. The project has already begun exporting to new markets in the Arab and African regions, with plans to expand to European and American markets.

The Arab Organization for Industrialization (AOI) pavilion showcased the establishment of the Arab African company for the production of medical materials and wafers, and factories for surgical sutures and medical syringes. An agreement has been reached with a Chinese company to produce X-ray and magnetic resonance imaging devices through a factory that will be the nucleus of a medical industrial city.

The Arab Company for Pharmaceuticals and Medical Supplies (ACDI) highlighted its 48 years of experience in the pharmaceutical and medical supplies industries. ACDI produces 1,200 pharmaceutical preparations, with plans to localize the raw materials industries and manufacture oncology drugs.
