Jr NBA Indonesia has launched its Her Time to Play program, aiming to develop young female basketball players in Indonesia. The program was introduced during the Jr NBA Indonesia Week in Jakarta, marking the 10-year anniversary of Jr NBA's presence in the country.

The event, held on June 1, 2024, at Gor Soemantri in Jakarta, featured NBA players Grant Williams and Marques 'Joyo' Bolden from the Charlotte Hornets. They provided basketball training to selected students, emphasizing skill development and promoting the sport.

Grant Williams expressed his enthusiasm for the program, stating, 'I think there will be a lot of development, maybe a little slower compared to the US, but the development of their skills is really starting to take shape.' Marques Bolden added, 'I think this is amazing. As you know, the NBA is the best basketball league in the world. So, as a global basketball competition and going around the world, I think this is very good for basketball.'

The Her Time to Play program is part of Jr NBA's efforts to create a fun and inspiring environment for young female players. It aims to nurture their potential and encourage a healthy lifestyle through basketball. The program includes coaching clinics and training sessions led by experienced coaches and NBA players.

Natalia Andre, Senior Manager of Basketball Operations NBA Asia, and Jr NBA alumnus Vanissa Siregar also participated in the event. Vanissa Siregar commented, 'Her Time to Play is very good, we can see now the talents that are still younger than me, very enthusiastic.'

The Jr NBA Indonesia Week also featured an NBA Cares clinic at Sekolah Dasar Negeri Rawa Barat 05 in South Jakarta on May 31, 2024. This clinic, attended by 40 boys and girls aged 10-12, is part of the NBA's global social responsibility program, addressing critical social issues worldwide.

The Her Time to Play program is expected to have a significant impact on the growth of basketball in Indonesia, particularly for young female players. By providing opportunities and resources, the program aims to develop their skills and inspire them to pursue basketball at higher levels.
