Ghanaian Toddler Sets Record as World's Youngest Male Artist

Ace-Liam Ankrah, a 1-year-152-day-old Ghanaian toddler, has made history by becoming the world's youngest male artist, as recognized by Guinness World Records. This remarkable achievement was confirmed after Ace-Liam exhibited and sold his paintings at the Museum of Science and Technology in Accra, Ghana.

Ace-Liam's artistic path began at just six months old. His mother, Chantelle Kukua Eghan, an artist and founder of Arts and Cocktails Studio in Accra, was looking for ways to keep him occupied while she worked on her own paintings. She spread out a canvas on the floor with acrylic paints, and as Ace-Liam crawled, he inadvertently created his first artwork, titled 'The Crawl.'

Encouraged by his mother, Ace-Liam continued to paint. In June, Eghan applied for the Guinness World Record. By November, she was informed that to break the previous record, Ace-Liam needed to exhibit and sell his paintings. In January, Ace-Liam's first exhibition was held at the Museum of Science and Technology in Accra, where nine out of ten of his pieces were sold.

Guinness World Records confirmed Ace-Liam's achievement, stating that 'at the age of 1 year 152 days, little Ace-Liam Nana Sam Ankrah from Ghana is the world's youngest male artist.' The overall record for the world's youngest artist is held by India's Arushi Bhatnagar, who had her first exhibition at 11 months old and sold her first painting for about $60 in 2003.

Ace-Liam, who will turn two in July, still loves painting and accompanies his mother to her studio, where a corner is dedicated to him. He paints in short sessions, sometimes returning to the same canvas over days or weeks. 'He is painting and growing and playing in the whole process,' said Eghan.

Eghan hopes that the media attention around her son's achievement will inspire other parents to identify and nurture their children's talents. 'Encourage and support your child's interests, no matter how early they appear. Every child is unique, and nurturing their passions can lead to amazing discoveries and achievements,' she advised.

Ace-Liam's recognition by Guinness World Records has captured the attention of national and international media, including the First Lady of Ghana. His family is committed to providing him with opportunities to nurture his artistic abilities, exploring international scholarship opportunities and avenues for him to sell his artworks.

Ace-Liam's remarkable achievement, that of being the youngest male artist, not only highlights his unique talent but also emphasizes the importance of early childhood development and the potential for greatness that lies within every child.
