Si6 Metals Expands Tenement Area in Botswana's Limpopo Mobile Belt by 45%

Si6 Metals has expanded its tenement area in Botswana's Limpopo Mobile Belt by 45%, increasing its total area to 2868 square kilometers. This significant expansion follows the acquisition of a new 903 square kilometer prospecting licence.

The newly granted prospecting area is strategically located 7 kilometers south of Si6's high-grade copper-silver projects at Airstrip and Dibete, plus the Maibele North nickel-copper-cobalt play. The proximity to these established projects enhances the exploration potential of the new tenement.

This expansion of Si6 Metals' tenement area in Botswana's Limpopo Mobile Belt has significant implications for the mining industry and the region's economy. The increased exploration potential could lead to new discoveries and investments, contributing to economic growth and job creation.

Recent drilling results from the Dibete project have been promising, with a supergene zone intercept yielding 6.15 meters at 7.2% copper and 182 grams per tonne silver from 24.85 meters. This includes a notable section of 0.5 meters running at 10.8% copper and 281 grams per tonne silver, and another meter at 13% copper and 168 grams per tonne silver. The longest intercept reported was 25 meters at 2.17% copper and 77 grams per tonne silver from 27 meters.

Si6 Metals' portfolio includes three joint venture licenses with BCL, covering 142 square kilometers, of which Si6 holds a 66% stake. The company's new ground is considered similar in prospectivity to the nearby Selebi Phikwe nickel-copper mine and processing facility, which lies just 10 kilometers west of Si6's new tenement.

The Selebi Phikwe mine and processing facility, part-owned by Premium Nickel Resources and BCL, has been on care and maintenance since 2016. It comprises infrastructure including a concentrator, smelter, railway, dams, and tailings dumps. The project area hosts a resource of 2.4 million tonnes at a grade of 0.72% nickel and 0.21% copper, with accompanying platinum group elements (PGE), silver, and gold.

Looking ahead, Si6 Metals plans to design a reconnaissance program for its new licence area as part of a strategic review of its entire strategic minerals and metals portfolio, which also includes its Monument gold project in Western Australia.

This expansion marks a significant step for Si6 Metals, enhancing its exploration potential in the Limpopo Mobile Belt and positioning the company for future growth in the region.
